Book Blogger Hop #3
Don't forget to enter our Giveaways Here and Here
We're joining in with the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Crazy for Books.
This week's question is:
"Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, let's use this week's Hop to share what we are most thankful for and what our holiday traditions are!"
Well, it's a shame but we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK. However Thanksgiving for us is a time for remembering. In 1998 we had our wedding in Tampa Florida, and a three week honeymoon in the Florida and Tampa areas, so we celebrate our anniversary and remember the good time we had whilst there. I vividly remember going to KIng Henry's Feast the night we got married, in my wedding dress with my parents, sister, and new husband...the Florida sky offered up a spectacular electric lightening storm for us on the way. I've not seen anything like it since....just lightening, and no rain.
This year has been the worst yet for us in a number of ways...it's been very emotional for us. I try not to dwell on it too much. My Nan passed away suddenly in August. She was my hero, she'd been through so much...she'd fought cancer twice, and came through. Cancer took her ability to eat solid food, she survived on liquidized foods and soup. Throughout it all she remained as solid as a rock and set in her routines to keep her life as normal as possible. My true hero. I miss her terribly. I'm so thankful for the extra 6 years we had with her from her first bout of cancer when she was told it was terminal. She got to spend time with us, and her grandchildren, and she never complained. I'll always be grateful for our time with her.
I'm thankful for my family. I've got a very supportive hubby, and am so thankful to him for being here and putting up with my personality.
For Christmas the only tradition we have is putting Christmas Elves out. Two Elves appear during the run up to Christmas and report back to Santa on how the children have been. They come complete with an Elf passport..did you know that elves are extremely mischievous and love dropping crumbs on the table, and popping up in unusual places?! Our eldest won't be interested this year, but the youngest reviewer Harry will still like this I'm sure....it just adds to the magic and sparkle.

Awwww the elf tradition sounds cute!!
HI! Thank you for stopping by the blog. I am a new follower now.
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Cancer has taken many loved ones from me and I wish for nothing more than a cure for this terrible sickness.
I have four little ones and I know they would love to see the Christmas elves. Since the elves come by each year to collect the Santa letters, maybe the elves will get into the cookies this year or leave behind a scarf or hat by accident.;-)
